9 April 2025, Bangkok - Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand and Director of the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Center (Thai-MECC), presided over a comprehensive review of operational achievements and strategic recommendations for the first half of Fiscal Year 2025.

This high-level briefing was attended by distinguished officials including :

- Admiral Jirapol Wongwit, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy and Deputy Director General of Thai-MECC

- Admiral Pairote Fuangchan, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Navy and Secretary General of Thai-MECC

- Admiral Prakob Suksamai, Deputy Secretary General of Thai-MECC

- Senior representatives from relevant maritime agencies

Strategic Directives:

The Prime Minister issued the following directives to Thai-MECC:

1. To enhance interagency coordination across all maritime security entities with emphasis on:

- Combating illicit maritime activities including contraband smuggling

- Preventing human trafficking operations

- Disrupting the illegal trade of dual-use items with potential weapons of mass destruction applications

2. To strengthen maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities for enhanced life preservation at sea

3. To enhance the Integrated Coastal and Maritime Management framework for optimal maritime spatial planning and allocation among stakeholders at all administrative levels
